| Description |
This advanced pump class will expand on the basics taught the prior day in the Beginning Pump Class and help attendees learn more about proper pump selection, troubleshooting, and repairs. The advanced class will also include AC power, motors, pump controls, and much more.
Taking the Beginning Pump Class before this class is not a requirement, but is encouraged.
Attendees will learn:
Water system hydraulics and common pump terms
Pump selection criteria based on flows, pressure, and system variables
AC power, power generation, single phase vs. 3-phase, and more
Motors, green motor efficiencies, enclosures, service factors, and more
Pump starting, different starting applications, pros and cons of each
VFD (variable frequency drive) applications, potential problems and examples
Advanced pump maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs
Hands-on demonstrations, Q&A, and audience participation
Excellent class for those that want to learn more about pumps
